Anybody out there fitted front spots/ foglights to a 4/4 sport - no bumper or over riders. I dont want to drill the body. Any ideas how to fasten them. I had thought of a badge bar fixed to the grill or the box behind the number plate.
All suggestions (that`s opening it up to you lot) welcome.
I might have said Frog lights - but they`re amphibians!
Spratt lights?

I originally fitted my spot lights to the badge bar which worked quite well with very little vibration as the I got the BMW lights made of stainless steel which are identical to the chrome Morgan version but don't rust. I got the Stafford Vehicle Components. If you're interested I can email a pic of the brackets to you and I don't mind sending them to you.

I've just changed to using the Librands 3 point brackets that have been fixed to the bodywork. I got them drilled and suitably protected the holes and it allows the lights to sit further back of which I prefer the appearance.

The way I would do it is definately to mount them on an elongated badge bar

I'm sure ages ago while trawling online Morgan part websites, I came accross someone selling a badge bar specifically for this with spot light fitting to go with it

Might of been Heart of England

Might have been Melvin Rutter

I'll try and remember Phil and get back to you if I find anything

I have got overriders and the additional fog-lights are fitted to the badgebar.
I'm not sure the front is now overloaded or not - but without overriders additional lights look fine for me. The front of a 4/4 is a narrow area to play with...

Have you worked out how to wire them in? Will you use the already installed switch on the dash or add a completely new switch and maybe tell tale light? D

Not worked how to wire them in - I`m hopeless at that sort of thing - but have a friend who is an auto electrician. If he can get the right tell-tale switch I think I would like it to go where the aircon button is on the dash - superfluous in a 4/4.

PS as there is not a lot of space at the front, I am wondering whether to look at some rectangular ones - may fit in a bit neater.

Phil Ledgerwood used to sell this arrangement - a bar fits inside the number plate box and the lamp fits through a drilled hole in the box and through the bar. A very elegant solution.
