Welcome Rossco.

I would imagine the SuperSport will be there. As for the Aeromax, there will be at least one in the car park, if not the Morgan stand. wine

Thanks for the extra info Simon. I have missed this page somehow (easy really).
I tried to find out from the organisers when most people will be arriving there as we are going down before and staying near Lymington for a couple of nights. Do you have any idea??

For those traveling down through Lyndhurst, apparently it is village fete day also on 28th so maybe slow getting through.

Also on 28th & 29th the New Forest (agricultural) Show is on in Brockenhurst.

Frank cheers

We have booked into a place in Bucklers Hard for Monday 27th, always wanted to go there.

http://www.themasterbuilders.co.uk/index.html

They are offering other TM members a rate of £89 rather than the usual £99 at present - and check their web site for any last minute offers - contact is Alex

Oh, and welcome to all those freshly out of the lurking closet!

There's a route across the Forest from Salisbury if anyone needs it, missing out Lyndhurst/Brockenhurst, but it's not well signposted. You take the B3080 off the A338 at Downton. Then a right turn on the brow of a hill onto an unclassified road (opposite Forest Road). Then another right well before you cross the A31. Then left at the next T junction. This road goes under the A31.Once under, and at the carpark merge right onto Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive - this is really scenic, but narrow in places.Cross the A35 on the level - take your life in your hands - and continue on the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive. This becomes Rhinefield Road on the outskirts of Brockenhurst, where after some buildings and a hotel on the right, turn left after a clearing onto Meerut Road. This will bring you to the A337 Lyndhurst Road. Turn left, but get ready for the first right - it's not far. This is Balmer Lawn Road. Under the old railway bridge, and the road becomes the B3055. That becomes Hatchett Lane and takes you to Beaulieu, and Bucklers Hard. I've used this route for 25 years to avoid the delays in the two main towns. Check it out on Google Maps or get an OS map. It's a great drive. nerd

A really nice venue - great location and choice Paul. smile

Frank, another good choice is Careys Manor - I've stayed here on a few occasions and found it nice.

I was trying to find the name of another hotel that I've used near Lymington but didn't have any luck (it should come to me, so I'll post it up as and when the fog of age clears (or is that the fog of a good red wine? wine ); however, I did find this hotel during my search: check out the cars in the photo! shades

I haven't used this hotel so do not know how good (or poor) it is - but it made me laugh that they have Morgans on their home page. woohoo

Well done Dave - fantastic detailing as usual.
I did my First Class Badge hike (Boy Scouts)through the ornamental drive. Its famouse for its giant redwood trees. Worth a through visit if your coming that way. Sadly much of the forest has been organised now with formal bland car parking areas with difficulty made for stopping where you want to. I'm not sure about this ornamental route though.

Thanks for all of the hotel info but we had already booked some weeks ago in Milford On Sea, some way from Beaulieu.

It is the expected arrival time at Beaulieu time I was trying to establish.

Well, it starts at 10.00am and we should be there pretty soon after that. We can always swap mobile numbers & meet up there.

I see that we are welcome to bring our own hampers...having performed at the abbey quite a few times, I do know the caterers - would there be any interest in me contacting them to see if we can sort out a picnic? It may not be possible, but I'm happy to find out if it can be done...

Hi Paul
Sounds a great idea as we will have to find food for lunch there somewhere. I'll mention it to management. Will look for your other thread this evening.
Frank
cheers
