Jeez......all I posted was a bit of innocent information....and now you are all moaning about non stainless fasteners! I think I'll stop posting any more information about what happening at the factory.

I don't envy MMC one bit. If they make any changes we"re all likely to get our knickers twisted. ooo

As I'll never be in a position to own a new one and am unlikely to replace the present one (except perhaps for the 'right' 4 seater) it makes no difference to me... smile

It reminds me of the time I repainted the ceiling in the pub.

Half of my customers said it was a huge improvement, brightened the place up & so on. The other half said that I'd wrecked the place, that every stain on the ceiling had been part of the pub's history & ambience.

Well not an analouge with a Morgan chassis at all.

I can report that a major North Sea production platform installed in 1987 had a major change out of galvanised steel gratings on walkways and stair treads in 2005 that was 18 years later as the steel gratings were physically breaking when a few guys were walking over them.

The steel angle iron holding the gratings that had been painted had lost some paint coating but in no case did the company have to replace the metal supports holding the grating. They were given a quick local blast with a pencil blaster and a few coats of paint before the new gratings were installed.

These gratings were between 40ft and 60 ft above sea level.

I'd just hope he liked Gile's beer - thirst for righteousness and all that.

Maybe not Eddie, but it does make a good point. With a painted chassis, you can see where it's rusting a sort it out. Not so easy with galvanised.
