Welcome Hoggy and congrats on the Morgan
I have often thought about your situation ie buying a Mog in Winter with a limited time warranty
I can only think the advice given is the best and that is to check that all your fluids are suitable for Winter including the windscreen washer and get out in the car as much as possible
Last Winter I became a bit too saltaphobic so this year I'm making sure I get out when it's reasonably dry even with grit on the roads as clear nights and days tend to be cold
I'm just avoiding wet and salt as it takes a bit of hosing off
As Budster quite rightly says - Winter drives can be magical

I completely understand, what is it about them? Rarity , very old fashioned design shape but flowing lines , unusual colour - rolls Royce velvet green ( no other car is that colour except a pre war racing car ) , hand made from wood and aluminium , the oldest car still on the road...they are pets not cars !

Thanks Steve, I live in the North East, I know there is a regional Morgan Association (normog) which I hope to get involved with shortly.

Based on some problems I had;
I would suggest that you check for leaks, oil, cooling fluid etc from inside engine bay and underneath. Do a general visual check underneath looking for any problems, missing underseal etc.
Check wiring looms in engine bay and front end to make sure they are not chaffing.
Check that rubber fuel filler pipe (spare wheel out) is not cracked and there is no petrol smell. Take out tool tray and check cable runs around rear prop shaft, check battery is secure and cannot short out on retaining strap. Make sure you have the included tools (jack, wheel spanner etc).
Do all the extras fit correctly, hood, hood cover, tonneau etc.
Check all the functions work (there are not many!), horn, main beam flash, reverse, fog lights etc.
I would take the Mog for a run over bumpy roads to check for suspension or other noises etc.
Then do a "spanner check".
Grease the front end every 500 miles (clean the extruded grease with paper towels afterwards)
Buy a can of AF50 for the bodywork beading seals.
TM is a great source of info and help.
The biggest problem you are likely to have is withdrawal symptoms when you are not driving. (some folks on TM overcome that by OCD cleaning!)

I like your colour choice too, I was taken with Royal Ivory, actually with the odd exception, I like most colours.

Thanks Steve, I live in the North East, I know there is a regional Morgan Association (normog) which I hope to get involved with shortly. Give them a try. For me and quite a few TMers too it seems, the MSCC offerings just don't do it. My local one seems only interested in golf and dinner.. That's why I made every effort to meet up with like minded TMers to do our own thing. Great fun with great people. You'll find some that aren't too far from you I'm sure.
