We are an opinionated lot and we all know what we like and don't like. So any adventurous spec will invite comment. It's refreshing to see adventurous dealer spec cars because most play safe. You've only to look at dealer stock on the MMC website to see that.

Its positive that these two cars have prompted these responses.

From not liking the colour matches to misunderstanding the Legion link.

The colours would not be my choice - but its very good to see different Morgans being made in this way - if they were all the same it would be as boring as hell!

It is interesting that the response to the reading of the Laurence Binyon's poem 'For The Fallen' is, in Australia, "Lest we forget"; elsewhere in the world it is "We will remember them". Do you have any idea why Australians use "Lest we forget"? I would be interested to find out.

If I may be so bold:

Notwithstanding the fact that opinion on the cars is divided....as perhaps it always will be....I am still not clear on what the donation to the RBL is likely to be.

One poster suggested it was £1000 per car, though I can see no reference to that on TM and it is not mentioned on the Oakmere website listing of the car (that the OP's link takes you to). Have I missed something?

The Oakmere letter says 'A car to place in the centre of Manchester over Christmas in our pop up shop to collect donations in the shop for the RBL and then donate some of the proceeds from each sale to a worthy cause.'

This suggests to me that the street donations will go to the RBL and that the proceeds from the sale of the cars will go to a different (unknown to me) worthy cause. Is this what was meant or, again, have I missed something?

Perhaps 'someone in the know' would be kind enough to clarify the intent.

To clear up any confusion we will be collecting in the Manchester Shop for the Royal British Legion and £1000 from each of the cars sold will be donated to the Royal British Legion (the worthy cause).

I'm sure that if it had been a new owner showing off their pride and joy, those that liked the car would have been very complimentary, and those that didn't like it would have kept discreetly quiet, or just welcomed them to the world of Morgan.

As it's been posted, not by a dealer, but drawing attention to a dealers stock, it's fair game.

My view hasn't changed, nor have I back peddled. I still think it's horrendous.

Just throwing everything on the options list at it doesn't make it classy. just because all the items are available doesn't mean you have to add them all.

Some things are best kept simple and subtle.

Think of the vajazzle. An unnecessary adornment to something that really needs no further work. (in most cases!!!)
