Ah, the VW flat 4, I remember those. I had a couple back then and remember the very comforting sound of it chugging away to get you home. It's a bit like when you have done sailing for the day ( and I think Howard as a fellow sailor will know what I mean ) you start the iron topsail and it chugs away to get you safely back to port. So, yes please more flat 4's but not in my Moggie please. Reg You could have one behind the spare wheel, to get you home.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

How about a cooking Subaru Imprezza flat four that would make a 4/4 bark a bit and what a sound, I wonder if someone has tried it the C of G would move further in the right direction as well.

The Ford V4 was also in the early Capri 2.0. It's a jewel of an engine - tiny to look at. It was rather good in the Corsair. The distant family had a 2000E.

If memory serves, they also put it in the Transit van and a version was used in the Tanus in Germany.

It went on to power the early 70's Consul 2.0 too - my Dad had one (JOK89L) when I passed my test - I remember borrowing it to drive from Walsall to Nottingham to see a cute brunette. The car went very well. The brunette is sat next to me while I type this.

Back to the start of the thread, I drove the Huracan at Milbrook in July 2014 and it was pretty awesome. Easy to drive compared to some of the older models.
One point though, the driving position is superior in the LHD over the RHD

The Memsahib went to a track day at Snetterton last year and had a ride in a Lambo Roadster, she reckoned it was fantastic, reached 142mph on the straights according to the owner. Reg

On the one mile drag at Millbrook I got up to 285kmh (about 173 mph) but I didn't drive it well, it was quite scary acceleration and I was changing up too early. I think one guy got close to 190mph according to the professional co-drivers.
