Hi All

New to the forum, so I thought I'd start with a post in here. smile

My father has owned a Morgan since c.1999, and the car is now mine. It's a 1996 Plus 8, originally a 3.9 but with a new short block it's now a 4.6. It's had a raft of performance modifications; most obviously a Libra Motive exhaust which sounds very unique.

Here's the car when I went Vulcan hunting a few weeks ago.

The car has been involved in a lot of activities including Le Mans Classic (which I was lucky enough to go along on), trackdays in the UK, and general touring in mainland Europe.

The other car in my garage is a 1968 Pontiac Firebird, running a 6.6 litre V8. The Morgan's Rover V8 seems relatively small in comparison. Obviously they are rather different to drive!

I look forward to chatting with you all.

Thanks Joe

(P.s. you can find me on twitter @stuffaboutcars)

Hi back at you Joe T,.....another Morgan being passed-on from father to lucky and appreciative son.
An excellent way of ensuring the car's future care and longevity.
Pleased to see that you appreciate variety in your automotive interests/pursuits. thumbs

1999 was a vintage year for +8s , an excellent choice.

When I wanted a bit more performance I wondered long and hard about going down the 4.6 short engine route, but in the end went for a few mods on my current 3.9 engine. I can pull 5th gear at about 1,500 rom , so you must be able to pull from tickover. Mind you I suppose even the torque of the modified +8 pales into insignificance compared to your other V8!
