I got to the bottom of this today and basically, the 'black box' for the heating unit (which includes the fan) has to be replaced. As I thought, it has been reprogrammed to circumvent the resonance caused by the programming of the previous one. It seems not all Aeromaxs suffer from this but if yours does, Morgan do have a fix.

belgian import is not aware of this solution,
my Maxie does have the resonating noise...
but when fan is turned higher level: noise goes away

(maybe to copy it's older brother's Librands muchos-resonanty-exhaust)

As posted in another topic, the Italian dealer told me that MMC is developing a new fan box that should cure the problem of noise.

It will be retrofitted under warranty on the Aeromax.

Similarly I was told MMC is redesigning the air filter box as under certain conditions, it becomes noisy
