I do like original elderly and oily rag cars; much preferring them to over restoration.
When it comes to Morgans; I think Nick Charlesworth's 4 seater is wonderful and though I have only owned my 4/4 for 10 of its 12 year existence, it is starting to have its own character.
ps Fans of this genre should read The Automobile, very enjoyable magazine.

I think proper aged patina is a great thing. Cars are only original once. Be nice to have my Morgan age well and show some signs of use with age. It getting there with some stone chips!

There's nothing wrong with genuine patina. I prefer to keep my work shoes well polished, and well worn well polished shoes have the same visuals. But there comes a time when patina is just scruffy. It's what you do then............

Its interesting to see barn find or very original but well maintained cars being advertised at not a huge amount less what some restored cars of the same marque are advertised at. Preservation seems to becoming more commonplace. I personally like preserved or oily rag cars. Obviously they are not everyone's cup of tea but each to their own.

No oily rag isn't my thing.. I've had cars and bikes that could have been left as is.. But I just can't resist cleaning things up, hard to leave un polished and rusty.

I have an "oily rag" bike Yamaha TR1 Cafe racer and i like it but most people did not understand the fun of it

Not a a fan of bling, so I find "oily rag" look very appealing. A well maintained and polished mog looks great, but I cannot understand the use of chrome and stainless wires. Painted are the only wires that look correct. But we all would'nt want to be the same, so each to there own.

I'm an oily rag fan but not a rat fan....that's just too faux.
I've seen a few oily rag Morgans around including a wonderful black one that turned up at the factory a few months ago. It had decades of patina on it which the owner obviously loved....not sure he'd appreciate a "rat look" label though!
