Tight Nut or what.
The 1.8m scaffolding tube simply turns the wheel on the garage floor. I'll back the car out onto the tarmac drive tomorrow to try and get a bit more friction. It loosened the other 3 factory fitted wheels but this one was refitted by our dealer in Northwich. It may have been the body builder with the 3m bar. ps. I am turning it clockwise before anyone asks.

Get someone to put their foot on the brake. The will help with grip. If the wheel still lifts, try from the other side. Good luck

I had a similar problem and found that the only way to loosen it at all was to use the hammer and shock it. It eventually moved a smidgeon and then I went back to the bar. I have no idea why they are done up so tight.

Mild application of heat from a blowlamp will loosen it.

I have no idea why they are done up so tight. I found this with tight spinners - the hammer seemed to shock it, exactly as you describe.

Don't you just hate it when you can't undo a Fastening
It drives me bonkers
A few weeks ago I tried to undo a pedal bolt on a bicycle - I tried absolutely everything - long tubes over spanners, freeze spray, heat
In the end I had to give in and take it to a bicycle shop and even they struggled - took it into the back where I guess it wasn't pretty!

Mild application of heat from a blowlamp will loosen it. Those guns for stripping paint used on a low setting are really effective for this.
