I´m driving with 185/65 winter tires. In the manual it says that it should be 165/80 on the 2005 4/4.
The front jumps up and down even though I have 3 clicks on the Rut AVO shocks. If I have more than 5 clicks the jumping are completely crazy. Blue springs. Adjusted and lubricated the damper blades. Lubricated the kingpin bussings.
Could it be tires that are the problem?
I have not driven the car with my summer 165/80 tires!

what psi are you running?

I have never been happy with shocks that have been adjusted stiffer. I always end up with No Adjustment - SOFT. Also 24 PSI or lower on the tires. Long trips with Passenger 22PSI. I use Koni's for no particular reason.

Oylo, shouldn't you be running 185/65 in summer and and 165/80 in winter?
The narrower the better for M & S ?
Agree 21/22 psi too.

Don't quite understand winter vs summer and 165 vs 185 tires. I try very hard not to drive My Morgan (no matter which of the 3 I own) on snow and ice. Now I am a ski person. Until recently I was in the Mountains every winter. The only time (in some 60 years) did I drive a Morgan. It was a disaster. I lost control in the Ski Area Parking Lot and did a couple of 360's. Now as I live in the Pacific NW of the US I do drive My Morgan's in the rain a lot. Years ago it was Michelin "X". Later it was Michelin XYX now it is Kuhmo and Yokhama tires. I don't wear the Kuhmo's nor Yokahama's to the end. They are good for 20,000 miles but seem to loose their magic after that. All of my mountain ski cars had good new tires. The rear tires had studs. None of My mountain cars were extremely powerful. A Peugeot Gl station wagon was one of the best. The other was a '87 Buick Estate Wagon with PosiTraction (limited slip) rear axle. One of the worst was a 1990 Jaguar XJ6. Great for touring but not for Ice/Snow/Mountains.

Winter tires should be no wider than the summer tires, rather the opposite way around. Better grip on snow and ice with the narrow ones!
I still remember times when people loaded the trunk with bags of cement to get better wheel grip to the rear axle when snow on the road. Volkswagen Beetles were always good on winter roads because of their narrow tires and the engine weight in the rear while my Triumph Spitfire with weight at the front end was a real desaster on snow when I drove it in the 70's.

It may be that you can't get winter tyres in 165/80 profile.

But, winter tyers with spikes are a problem in 165/80! :-(
My 4/4 is built to run all year. Also on snow and ice! Not only in rainy summer weather.
We have good clothes and umbrella!
My old summer tyers are 165/80!
New summer tyers 2016 will be 165/80 or 185/65. What will be the best solution?

Oylo, assure yourself that you will not loose too much ground clearance.
According to one tyre website, etyres.co.uk, the radius difference between the two tyres is 12mm about 0.5inches.
165/80R15 diameter 645mm
185/65R15 diameter 621mm
