BTW: Also for summer tires I would go for 185/70 R15 but not for 185/65 because of the ground clearance in case you want to get away from the original 165/80 R15
Vredestein has both dimensions in their portfolio
Hannes once: Green M3W; 2013 now: Red 4/4 Sport; 2011 and some practical cars for use in real life
Hannes, I agree with 185/70/15 if to swap 165/80/15 but the offerings are exremely rare and very expensive. For summer I will take Vredestein T Trac2 in 165/80/15 size, which has a very good wet index. B instead of F for the OEM Contis. Every different character means 3 meters more brake way, so the Contis needs 12 meters more which I can prove.
Hannes, yes that price tag is very ok with regards to the Sprint Classic. The Avon CR6ZZ plays in another league of costs. I personally will keep with 165/80/15. I love the quietness of the narrower tyres as well as the ability to slide a bit around even in the dry.
No, I have not tried vredestein tyres myself, but I think you should use narrow high profile winter tyres on a 4/4. I keep my morgan away from the salty winter roads around Oslo, so there will be no winter tyres for me. Harald
