Well done Tim! I envy you....if I was given the chance I would say yes without thinking. Spitfire flight? Yes and a possibility. Fast jet flight...yes and a possibility. Spaceflight...yes but unlikely unless I won ££££££ and Branson gets his act together! To me it is the ultimate bucket list inclusion. High risk...yes. Worth it? at my age yes! No real fear but hats off to all the astronauts/cosmonauts.

It was great watching the live TV coverage this morning ... just like old times! I thought that watching the docking and entry tonight. It's been quite some time since those magical times watching moon landings, space walks etc. Let's hope that there's a renewed interest now.

I remember Gagarin going into space when I was a nipper. I was so impressed I wrote to the Russian embassy for information and they sent me a box full of space books, photos & other goodies. My interest has still not waned. A pity that kids these days are so full of the National Curriculum that doing "Project Work" on things like the ISS rarely happen. So imagination & enthusiasm is stilted. Bring back the good old days when teachers could teach what they thought was appropriate & use topical issues to fire the kids` enthusiasm. Rant over!!!

This just seems like yesterday to me in 1961 - this first trip took immense courage when no one could really predict the landing or effects on humans. These adventures were Dan Dare becoming reality for my generation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSvAe7_GjJM
