Not sure I would put shumacher before prost or fangio due to the fact that the competition within his team was always on the weaker side compare to what other driver had to fight against. Prost for one had Senna (3 titles), Lauda (3), mansell (1) and rosberg (1) as teamates, and got beaten on points by his teamates only twice in 13 seasons;
No offense to rubinho (0) or massa (0) or Irvine (0)but neither are playing in the same league as these guys above and that's enough for me to rise some doubts about shumi, was he the best or was he at the right place at the right time with the right people. Was it he on his own who rised his team or the engineering quality of rory byrne and Ross brawn as well as the great organisationnal talent and leadership of Jean Todt (who also lead peugeot to rally titles, to multiple dakar wins and to Le mans victories)?

It's obvious from reading about Jim Clark's that he had the magical ability to jump in anything from a Lotus Cortina to a F1 car and be instantly quick.

He also beat the Americans in their own backyard.

Had he lived it is a foregone conclusion that he would have one more world championships.

Personally think he was in a different league to JYS.

He was the first F1 superstar. flag

I lived in Chirnside in Berwickshire for many years where Jim Clarke is buried and where his family farmed. Apparently he was pretty hot on a tractor too. Definitely the greatest as far as I'm concerned.
