Christmas Quiz - A or B?

Sorry to put this in here instead of the maintenance section but I couldn't find a way to put a photo in an ordinary post.

Can anyone help - A or B for the axle stands (one each side obviously)?

B is better for stability but the tube is strong.

Thanks. I've just knocked up a load-spreader for the jack as well!

I would say it depends on what you want to do. When greasing the suspension I tend to have the stands slightly inboard so as to have more space.
If I am cleaning the flies etc out of the rad or just having a general look around then outboard.
If you look at Dave W brilliant posts, you will see how to make a wooden device to spread the load when using a trolley jack.

As a new Morgan owner, jacking points are a concern to me and therefore this photo is very helpful. Would a positional marker at point B with gaffer tape or something better help to 'feel' for access in difficult situations. Also, Is this a good point for the standard supplied jack.

Does anyone have a similar positional jacking point photo for the rear?

To avoid the need for emergency wheel change, I'm about to buy a pressurised inflators/sealer. Any recommendations most welcome.

Pressurised sealer/inflators are ok but remember the tyre is writen off as tyre companies are very reluctant to repair tyres that have been inflated with chemicals and i have had one or two people tell me they will not touch the wheel as they have to clean out all that chemical before fitting a new tyre. so i would check with your local tyre company before you take the step.

That's very helpful, thank you - I will forget the idea and focus on wheel change. Punctures are rare I know and I have a nice spare wheel! It's only apprehension with the Morgan jacking situation that has made me think of this alternative route.

If you are stuck "out and about" and have to use the spare, before jacking up (or after just starting) place the spare under the car and then switch with the flat asap just in case. Should all fail it will limit the impact.

I use B as well but didn't think about it too deeply

I think I first asked the question on how to jack up the Mog at the chaps from Lifes Motors, I don't remember whether they were too specific on the position on the front cross member but I do remember Matty telling me to make sure the jacks are under the chassis cross member on the back and not under the wooden floor
