I recognise the name from eMog. Can't think why he did it, unless he'd had a few beers?

Greetings, all!

I am the perp in question. Obviously the reporting got rather muddled, but the actual story is less exciting......

I was coming home from a late night of detailing the car for an upcoming show and ran over some 18 inch cones that had been put in place as part of road closures due to a historic recent flood. As they were un-lit and well forward of the actual barricades (also un-lit), my reaction time was not up to the challenge.

The photo of the car was taken at the stop and speaks volumes towards the "severity" of the incident. The "chase" lasted only the distance to the nearest side road turnoff since there was no safe room on the motorway. There were no findings on the sobriety test, no one was injured, no animals were hurt or in danger at any time during the incident, and all 18" safety cones were righted and resumed their lonely un-lit vigilance until the whole production came down two days later.

The incident gained notoriety as our good sheriff had initiated a zero tolerance for barrier violations due to the state of emergency in response to our massive flooding event in South Carolina.

I very much enjoy my visits to TalkMorgan and only ran into this posting tonight. I obviously do not post much but do appreciate the restraint in member editorials, as this is one of those times where the fictions reverberate well beyond the true narrative.

And my deepest apologies to those (Harwich??? et al) who thought this to be a living example of a Moggie channeling his inner drug and alcohol-fueled Burt Reynolds!! Until we meet again, cheers, frans
