Hello Everyone
I admit to have being a lurker on TM for sometime. I greatly enjoy the banter and have learnt a lot. I'm not very computer literate, so I've had to wind myself up to find out how to join in. I hope I've got it right.
I used to live just around the corner from the factory in Malvern. When I first moved there in 1973 I knew a woman who worked on assembling the ash frames. She was a great character. I believe that during and after the war quite a few women worked at the factory. I also had a neighbour who had a four seater. This all started me off wanting a Morgan.
I looked at buying one years ago, but I needed a car in which I could commute up and down the M5 (usually in the dark and wet, and it was just two lanes at that time) and being nervous about doing this in a car the lorries might not notice and from which the view out is not too good with the hood up, I abandoned the idea. The car I did buy is long gone to the scrapyard. If I'd bought the Morgan I'd probably still have it now.
Only now when retired have we made the dream come true (my wife has always been keen to get one) and purchased a Plus 4. It's great! It makes every journey special. The only problem we've had is a headlight rim falling off in France after a trip to a Champagne cellar over cobble sett roads.
Cannot make out if it's the chrome rim or plastic mount that's distorted. Some sticky tape around the rim fixed it temporarily. A more permanent packing around the rim is needed, maybe a pair of those black plastic eyelashes will do the job, or will these get me thrown out of TM before I've even started? Has anybody else had the same problem?
My background is not in engineering, it's in building, but I was brought up on BL cars, and rather than take the car go to the dealers for repairs, it was quicker and cheaper to find out what was wrong, learn how it all works and then to put it right myself. So I've a lot to thank BL for! Not that this knowledge is much use now on modern cars, where I cannot fathom out how to take off the plastic engine cover without breaking it.
Can’t wait for spring!

Hey Denny8. Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new here myself and have to say it's a great place to be. And nothing wrong with those 'headlight eyelashes' either in my book - haven't seen a photo on here with them though!

Welcome Doug!
I've often wondered why Adrian hasn't fitted the eyelashes to his Rosie.....could make eyes at Budsters Stanley then.
