As someone else suggested, speak to Tim Ayres at New Elms: http://www.newelmsmorgan.com/Not sure whether they use Sid Watson G/F or have their own made locally.

So, have had a couple of quotes for new wings (opinion being that a repair is inadvisable) and the thing that strikes me is there is very little difference in the cost between grp, steel and ally. Cost to supply and fit one rear wing is about £800-£900 which seems a lot but then i guess the cost is in the prep and painting. So, if I were to get the job done is it advisable to do both rear wings at the same time (a slight discount from one of those asked if I did this) and if so, which finish to go for? Could all get very expensive!

Blimey, that's a hell of a quote for one rear wing! Is that from a main dealer? Have you talked to Tim Ayers or Steve Barnes? The front wings are a major piece of work, usually 8 to 12 hours of labour, but a rear wing should be much less than that I would have thought.

Yes, I've had one quote from my local main dealer and one from New Elms. Actual cost of wing less than £200, rest labour and paint etc. Was hoping not to spend anything like that on it at the moment so shall have to count the pennies!

Didn't post earlier for 2 reasons. Firstly the recommended man in TR circles is Stuart, but he's in Grampound road near Truro which isn't very close to you. Secondly he is a now a TR restoration specialist although he has worked on other classics in his earlier days. However the reason that I thought of suggesting him is because he is particularly expert at panel repairs and especially using lead. He presents lead loading/bodywork seminars at the TR International weekends and is extremely well respected. Just thought that there may be something that he could do with the wing that you have. He is http://watermillcarriage.webs.com/(No relation, haven't used him myself, but I've bought a panel from him and seen his work on other people's cars)

Thanks Malcolm, the advice I've had is that it really would be best to replace the wing. I'm just weighing up the options which to me are-do the one wing, do both rear wings or do the whole lot as discounts apply for multiple wings. Problem is I really don't want to be spending large amounts on the car this year. If I had it done I'm still not sure which material to go for. I suppose at some point soon I will need to decide whether I want to keep the car long term, if so it would be a worthwhile investment. The car is never going to be a show car and I don't want it to be but I like to keep on top of things if possible-much to ponder!
