Portable generator and a Sandwell (or other) pump...
Unfortunately I have no hydraulic pump / PTO on this Land Rover, could have done it that way instead of electric.

Hi Steward. Really sorry to hear you've been flooded. I'm up at my sisters just outside Carnforth and thought that we'd be hit badly today....the village green outside flooded a little and the bottom of the orchard but the worst rain passed south of us...sadly over you!
I spent Christmas Eve with a couple and their son who had been flooded out of their place in Kendal and have moved temporarily into a neighbouring village...they have been told probably six months before they can return scared I really hope you haven't been hit as badly. If there's anything I can do to help do let me know.

Thanks Jays

We are certainly more fortunate than many in Cumbria and many more in the centre of our village in Croston that are under 4 foot of water

Also heard from friends in Bingley Yorkshire who have had to evacuate with water up to their first floor level

Just hoping it subsides and we can get our electricity back

Other than that - we've plenty of food in, plenty of red wine and at least it's not cold
My youngest son Ralph is tooked up cosy in his Safe Space bed upstairs and my eldest son is staying over with friends in a neighbouring village as we have made his bedroom a bit of a store room

I'm more happy I don't have a arguementitive teenage son around

Still worried about the Morgan though - water and Morgans don't mix very well

Stewart, the miles between us are many but I'd like you to
know that I am sincerely saddened by your predicament and
hope that your world will return to a happier dimension
before long. Your situation reminds me of the many blessings
showered upon me daily and that I all too frequently take for granted...

I'm sorry to hear you're suffering from flooding Steward. I hope with water has peaked. I cannot imagine the clean-up operation thats going to have to commence when its all over.

Just been downstairs with a torch, water is definately abating - the living room now just covered in a thin film of water

Water now a third up the wheels on the Mog so a bit lower than a couple of hours ago

We were thinking about you today when my brother sent us pictures of Croston. It seems surreal.
Wish we were there to help you out. Stay safe and we hope the rains have peaked. It's going to be quite a clean up operation.

Not that I'm wishing for floods here but it would be nice if we could give you some relief by taking a bit of your rain. We haven't had any for two months and a sort of false spring is happening. When we eventually get hit by the real winter it could be something of a disaster for nature.

I hope you find that you have not suffered too much damage when the water subsides.

Sorry to hear the news Stewart, living next to the Thames I'm always very upset to hear of people being flooded it really must be a horrible experience. Hopefully your insurance company steps up to the plate and you can get your life back to normal as quickly as possible.
