Really sorry to hear the awful news, hope you are all ok and the Morgan is ok, they are quite robust and should dry out pretty well with any luck. Let's all hope the rain stops soon.

Wish you all the luck from Holland, how dreadful. Hoop the rain stops soon and the water will drop.

Really feel for you......hope damage is kept to minimum possible.

Wish we could send you some of our extra water Neil. I've driven a good part of the Great Ocean Road road (the year "London Bridge" collapsed) which is how news reports here are giving the fire location.

Really sorry to hear about your flooding. You have my sympathy - we got flooded a few years ago after the local town council relaid the road at the top of our cul de sac & redid the drainage. As the work was in progress my neighbor & I had remonstrated that the new system would not be able to cope, and that in heavy rain we would end up with all of the run off from the hill as soon as the drains started to struggle with the volume. He had replied that as he was a professional & we weren't.......

Anyhow, first torrential downpour and we had a metre of water in the outhouse, the cellar completely full and 18 inches in the garage (it was pre Morgan, & I managed to get my TVR out before the level was too high). Very luckily, the high tide mark was just before the front door, so our living quarters were not touched.

The insurance assessor who came around then started being a pain, wanting receipts for everything that had been damaged. It was at that point that I was really glad that I do all of my insurance through an excellent broker; he took up the cudgels on my behalf and they paid out quite quickly.

You might say that I should have sued the council, but I'm not by nature a litigious person, and the mayor was very apologetic and had the issue put right.

So, Bon Courage mon brave. Lets hope that you can get life back to normal as quickly as possible.

MrsW sends her sympathies Stewart, and has offered the loan of her hair dryer if that would help.

Obviously not much good until power is restored!

On my earlier message, the word 'cotton' invaded the text for some reason. I think it should have read 'a foot'..........
