SogMog flood defences
As an addendum to recent posts regarding the flooding to my village of Croston and the flooding of my house and Morgan, we have bolstered our defences with sandbags infront of the garage
Hopefully SogMog will not be repeated
The drive is sloping back to the garage with a soak away infront of the garage door so my son and I have been creative, thinking that we can divert the flow of any flood water with an arrowhead of sandbags

Very neat and purposeful.
Good luck to all of you in the path of the next bout of high winds and rain.

Stewart, where does your ACO soak away to? Water may back up through this and thwart your cunning arrowhead design. So don't forget to put some bags inside your garage behind the door also.
Good luck.

Stewart, any airbricks or vents in your walls? Worth blocking them as well to prevent water getting that route in.

Steward, whishing you luck when sitting out the next wave!
Some advise from The Netherlands (2/3 of our county has to be protected against flooding), behind the V shaped dyke of sandbags, I would put an extra one directly in front of the door. Golden rule: shorten the coastal line. You also create an additional line of defence. Finally, have pump ready so you can pump out water as soon as it comes in.
Good luck! BertR

Best of luck Stewart.....and everyone else at risk.
I was pondering in my mind about the idea of getting the Morgan raised up on ramps/blocks, just in case the water gets through the sand bags.

Just thinking Stewart...do you have axle stands or some scaffoling planks (or similar) you could get the car up on? Might just save things.....
