All I know is that it's very easy to max the revs in first and second in my Roadster! I love it!!

John - I don't know for sure but I get the impression mine might be a bit higher. I'll try to find out.

The engine I sold Woodstock was good to about 7500 or so. Peak power though was at just over 6200 so I set the rev limiter at 6800 in the interests of longevity. And yes, on some hillclimb courses, I did drive into the limiter and at one airfield sprint - did it in top gear...
The rev counter on the three wheeler is 0 to 5000 and was chosen as peak power on that is about 4200 so no need to paint a red line. If it reads a number - fine, attempting more so, bad.

I just had a look at the settings that I have in the Omex ECU on a standard Duratec with throttle bodies.
Ignition cut off is at 7,100 rpm and Fuel cut off is at 7,300 rpm.
The associated note says: The whole Ign_Cut_RPM_Table should be set to the safety limit value unless ALS is in use. The Fuel_Cut_RPM_Tableshould not be used for the safety limit and so should be disabled by setting the whole table to a higher value than the Ign_Cut_RPM_Table.
(ALS has to do with turbocharged systems)

I am often well over 7,000 RPM with My 1994 Zetec. installed in a '61 DHC. Weber DCOE carbs and no rev limiter. Maybe I had better pay attention. If a Duratec (Modern engine) rev limit is 7,000 I would surely think an old Zetec would not be more. My ignition timing is a mystery to Me. Seems to work OK but no TBS or vacuum control. Found ECU on the Internet and bought it. It works. But can not find anything about it at the moment. Gathering parts for a MegaJolt system at the moment.
