Would anyone know a good place for breakfast in or near Caen France. Out ferry docks at 0645 so to early for breakfast on the boat

Lots of local places about the harbour but we were never up before 8:30 so could not comment at what is open at that time.

We were there in June 2014 and met one of the crew that recaptured the bridge.
I bought the guy a whisky and as it was the 70 years since it happened. I promised the guy in his nineties that I would meet him there in 30 years time to celebrate 100 years since it was liberated.
He was game for that.

WHAT TIME !!! ????????? Never to the overnight Newhaven-Dieppe ferry - you dock at 4am - and can be on the road around 0420. We never do proper stops when crossing France - "empty the bladder, fill the fuel tank" ones only. We were back in Zurich in 8hrs from Dieppe last week. The toughest part is the sprint to Reims while it is still dark.
