I've been asked by somebody who has a 2012 Plus 4 which has the main beam dash light in the centre section of the dashboard and it appears to have failed.

I seem to recall that the warning lights are part of an inaccessible module - am I right or wrong? Fortunately, his car is still covered under a warranty as he has only just recently purchased it from a dealer but it provoked my curiosity as to whether this light can be rectified or is it a module replacement?

I think that the module is similar to that fitted to the 4/4. The warning lights are in a long strip attached to the module by flat cable. [img:center]http://[/img]

Thanks John - great photos! It's the same layout on the dash as my 4/4 so Sean's feasible. I guess then if one fails it's replace that whole module or can it be opened up?

I presume the main beam is working & it is only the warning light gone - there have been problems on recent trads with the headlamp wiring - mine included.

I have this problem too - was supposed to have been fixed - but not successfully. Not sure what the dealer tried. Mine is intermittent fault.
I will get it sorted under warranty at the next service. Looks like a common problem.

Had a similar problem on my 2009 Roadster when I bought it. Sorted by dealer under warranty who told me it was a connector issue. I think it was resoldered by the sound of it

If at all similar to the 3.0 Roadster then the big white square block connector on the back of the circuit board can cause missing functions.

The loom can be slightly over tight (like it was on mine) and can pull the pins backward in the connector with the car off and this connector plugged into the back of the board with a 2mm or so allen key push the pins into the connector to ensure they make contact you may see one sitting higher in the hole than others.

Obviously take care and do not short out 2 pins.

Answer to Phil Royal: Yes main beam works, only the blue high beam indicator does not. But as it happened just before the car was washed and put away, I cannot confirm if anything else has failed until it next goes out. Roger Cheshire brought this problem to the forum on my behalf to help me out (Cheers Roger)as I was walking around kicking stones. I can imagine it will be the same set up as the Roadster so it must be a common issue looking at the response from may people.
