Some years ago I was working in Wilhelmshaven for several weeks at a time, I was based near Amsterdam and got fed up with the Plane and train journey so for a change I drove my TVR Griffith from the UK via Belgium to Amsterdam and then on to Wilhemshaven. It was late March early April, and I got some interesting driving as I had not anticipated a sudden cold snap and late snowfall. It certainly can get cold up there. Luckily I had a relatively new set of tyres with some good tread. The indomitable German efficiency did keep the roads pretty clear, even the local roads. Hav fun.

I have tried using some seam sealer on the hood and want to test it.
Drove back from Bicester after the TM meet and decided I REALLY need to sort the drips on my head and the damp areas spreading from seams.
Using McNett urethane based sealer and painted onto seams with a small brush. Used a hairdrier to dry it quickly and it is a clear finish.
The hood stretches tight when the swivel levers are applied and the seamsand stitching stretch. The holes the thread go through open up enough to just see daylight! I hope that I managed to get the sealer to penetrate enough to seal them.

Phill.You could try clear silicone on the insde to fill the void with a cocktail stick seen it done on some very expensive boats, heat and cold are a bugger with your type of roof.Ive got some good seam sealer if you want some.

Em....tried the McNett on the inside already but only partial success. Water oozed through some of the "holes" and the Everflex inside surface blotted it up leaving damp areas. Hope the outside seal improves. A cocktail stick poking the holes would take ages!!! The brush with a stippling action seemed to fill the holes.

Or rub some candlewax onto the seams from outside......worked for me.

Tried that Nick. Also beeswax!
The McNett LOOKS good (invisible with signs it has sealed) but only rain will tell!
Now.....to wait for a rainy day!

Last Thursday morning I got a call from John in Ashland, Oregon. "Lets go on the Oyster Run?" OK! 2000 miles to a Oyster Bar Near Bodega Bay, Calif. for lunch. Just got back to Seattle last night. What a hoot. BTW: Used the Suplex Kit but with no shocks. Just have not been able to fit shocks with My +8 Bitsa using the lowered settings of Suplex. Shock is too long.
