I have spent most of the day in the car listening to tributes on the news and phone in shows
The cleverest and most poignant was "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Star Dust"
He did provide an ever changing musical sound track to my generation
And we'll forget about Tin Machine!

There was just something about him that put me off. Think he had lost the common touch. May have something to do with red blooded men like girls .

I loved some of his stuff, I hated some of it too. It doesn't matter; the genius of the man was that he was constantly pushing boundaries and re-inventing himself, so unlike many artists, he didn't spend the whole of his career just doing different versions of the same thing. A truly original and creative talent.
