Been in touch with my dealer and got a quote for stage 1.
"The stage 1 kit include a special exhaust and air filter. After modification the power of the car will be: 100bhp, 97lb/ft." (incidentally, that means 15bhp less than what was advertised when I bought the car!)
But the killer is the heat shields. They originally said they would be kept, so I agreed with the quote and asked them to order.
Then I got this email:
"When I ordered you parts at the factory, they just informed me by mail – see copy hereunder that it’s possible to fit on your car but without the heat Shild.
I think that it’s not a good idea.
We can fit the current head Shield with bracket ( factory suggest this).
Unfortunately this is not include into the stage 1 kit, and it will be an extra of 455,84 € + VAT."
So that's €550 for a bracket (excluding fitting)!!!
I've read this thread and I understand that the stage 1 exhaust doesn't get as hot due to the design, but I'm still in two minds whether I want to lose the shields. I have 2 young kids… and I quite like the "machine gun" look but that price is ridiculous for a bracket!

Exactly my story. Although, the no heat shields look has started to grow on me. I was told about $1250 for brackets and heat shields (not painted) installed.
I am working on something that will cover the bobbins a little and make them blend in better.

If you look at my posts earlier in this thread you'll see some pics of the new factory mounting for the Stage 1 with heat shields. I wasn't aware that the brackets were going to be extra (my car was used for the design and initial trial fit) but they are quite substantial brackets with new bobbins. The heat shield itself mounts to the bracket rather than the exhaust which should help with longevity (I hope!) Nippymog and Red Three run without heat shields so would be better able to comment on how hot they get but I think they are still too hot to be unprotected.

The forward couple of inches and the rearwards four or five inches of the silencers appear to get up to similar temperatures to the unprotected sections of the exhaust pipes. The section of the silencer in between runs much cooler and won't take the skin off your bare hands instantly when you touch them, but I haven't tried keeping my hands on them beyond a quick touch. Entry and exit over the Stage one pipes without heat shields will take care in shorts or the kilt. Particularly the kilt.

Having had my stage exhausts I can confirm the cool centre section is where the baffle is , the hot ends are pure pipe subject to the full blast of the exhaust.
I am in a similar position regarding wanting to retro fit the shields to stop youngsters burning themselves.
I have asked for costs as above from Morgan and local dealer.
If these brackets are stupid price , I will think of something else.
4 pieces of bent aluminium are not worth hundreds of euro no matter who makes them.

I got a better explanation today. The Stage 1 kit is designed for the 2014 model, which has different heat shields and brackets, bobbins etc to the early cars. On the 2014 car, the existing heat shield can be reused if you fit the stage 1 exhaust. However, for earlier cars the whole heat shield assembly has to be replaced (basically upgraded to 2014 spec, including the shields themselves). Since I know that the 2012 exhaust is a weak point of the car (will probably crack at some point - or at least that's how I'm justifying it to myself) I'm going for it, including the extra €500  I'm just wondering whether I should ask the dealer to keep the original exhausts for me, or bin them
