Happy New Year from Australia during a hot summer.
I have a 1982 plus 8, and even when it is only 25 degrees, the interior is a bit warm. My wife spent two hours with her feet on the seat last week! Does anyone have a good way of getting cooler air around my feet?

I fitted ducting that runs from the front of the car (either side of the rad but just in front and behind the grill)with in-line electric fans. To be honest it doesn't cure the hot feet scenario completely but I couldn't work out how to fit air con wink

I think it's a bit mean to talk of it being too hot when the UK is so bitterly cold. smile

Bonnet catch extenders to allow some of the underbonnet heat build up to escape.
Looks slightly odd when you are not familiar with theie use. Always confuses at least one marshal at out local hill climb as they assume the bonnets are not fastened down...

It would help the heat build up hugely if you wrapped your primary pipes, other than that, as others have said, experiment with ducting in fresh air from the front, and stick heating reflecting insulation on the engine side of the bulkheads, which is a really fiddly job, even with the engine out, or put more insulation in under all the footwell carpets, not forgetting under the bulkhead. Anything to prevent the heat soak from getting to the cabin.

The bulkhead can be insulated with Reflect - a - cool from Agriemach. It's self adhesive foil and although a bit fiddly to apply, works well. I did this to my Roadster. The transmission tunnel should already be insulated on the inside. I think most of the heat transfer is through the bulkhead so start with that.
