Apologies Adrian I'm not trying to denigrate anything that you, and or others, are doing to change and improve MSCC. Speedmog is also trying to start a virtual centre, though it does appear to target the racers in the community rather than your broader based virtual centre.
Nevertheless the point I was really making is that Peter has stood for high office in MSCC and put his personal reputation on the line and that more of us need to help support him to effect change, as otherwise I feel that MSCC is in danger of becoming moribund as the financial model cannot work going forward.
At least there does appear to be a growing feeling that something needs to be done, even if as you say the process is like trying to walk through treacle! Speaking as one who has done many things for my fellow MSCC members over the years, I totally agree with "what can you do for the MSCC?" It is a membership club not a subscription organisation. The magazine is a collection of members articles not a professional written mag like MOG. If you are not happy then get writing... Plenty of people seem to have lots of time to spend writing criticism on here... Ref SportsMog centre then sorry Brian I have clearly mis-communicated the fundamental reason..it is for people who want to use their Morgan primarily as a SPORTS CAR not a dining taxi. Typically these are people who MAY race, sprint or trial their car but NOT exclusively. I have good support, certainly enough to gather the 10+ signatures required to establish the centre. However you may have answered why I have had few on TM offer support for SportsMog. I must admit to being very disappointed by this given the level of negative comment being made.

Plenty of people seem to have lots of time to spend writing criticism on here... True, but when I submitted an article for Miscellany I got absolutely no response, not even a "This article is rubbish, we won't print it" reply. When I sent up a follow-up email, it was also met with no response. When this also happened to a friend of mine (and he also went to lengths to understand why his article (which I thought was excellent) had been rejected I became disillusioned with the whole thing and have never bothered to try again.

As I have said elsewhere in various other threads and here, it is very easy to stand on the sideline of the pitch and criticise the players or the board running it. What is is mutch nicer in my view is to get involved and support your club and hope it goes up in the rankings and be proud of it. Why not all join hands together as fellow Morganeers and support our club the MSCC and accept that we all are individuals and like slightly different things, and for a variety of reasons, be it age, models of cars or how we like to use them or what ever, surely it does not really matter the one thing I hope that we all agree on passionately is we love Morgans.

Certainly a big problem for me, and I'm sure for many, is that work and business get in the way making it difficult to guarantee time and commitment that is needed to help out until we get to an age when we have more time on our hands. That unfortunately is when we've become crusty old farts!
Seriously, I think many of us on here want to see change and I'm sure will support Peter J, Phil & you with a change in direction. I certainly would be interested in going to more racing events but as for taking part don't have the budget to race ours or the wish to trash it as it is of significant value to us so see that as beyond our reach.

For any organisation to change it needs to embrace all its people in this case the whole membership. Percentage wise I suspect the contributors to TM who are members are a small number. For change to happen and I suspect with the club it is cultural as well as organisational clear line of sight needs to be had to the future vision and the steps of how to get there. Change rarely just happens it needs to be planned and managed and the first step is to produce the vision, to be, of how the club will look. Definitely time for me to shut up. Pete

Pete Pete, please don't shut up because IMHO yours and other opinions are what is needed to help shape and produce a vision. Input from all is needed it's no good anyone having a vision if it does not capture the hearts of those it's aimed at. With input from those who are interested in change and building for the future a consensus and support can be generated to make it happen.
