Welcome to the Forum John,
My best advice as a relative novice, which sets a dilemma between getting out and driving as much as you can, would be to spend as much free time reading the threads on this website. There is probably a direct route (yet to be found by myself)to the technical items which will teach you most of the points you need to concentrate on.
Just hunting through the history is great.
If you can keep head of the new items which will distract you from this quest _ Help!
