- clearly missed all the fun on this last night eek

Welcome Ken.

Several years ago I spotted the Evans waterless coolant (at the NEC show, I think) and was tempted to use in my (then) original Toyota MR2 T Bar.
I checked with my garage mechanic who, coincidently, had just installed a new radiator on a clients restored MGB.Said client had insisted on using Evans coolant at a not inconsiderable cost so mechanic duly obliged.Next day coolant system sprang a leak (elsewhere in the system) and all the expensive coolant was lost. swear

I'm afraid it was enough to make me re-consider the plan. confused2

So for me,not a deal breaker I know, but you have to consider, amongst other things -

* Evans' claims for product - are they proven?
* Cost of product/install
* Can you clear system of sufficient 'old' water/coolant?
* Potential 'masking' of other problems
* Problems re. 'topping up' when away from base

All things considered,I think I would be ensuring the existing system is thoroughly cleaned and working to spec. and give the Evans a miss.....

Just my two pennies worth but HTH, James cheers

JBW sums up my thoughts on waterless coolants, my fear is that it's use could be masking another issue.
Last year, on my (modest) 13 year old 4/4, I had the original radiator replaced with a Mulfab unit. Results are that the car runs consistently approx. 10C to 15C cooler and the heater is now more effective. I can only assume the latter is as a result of better water flow around the system.
I have owned the car for 11 years, and with hindsight the cooling had become less efficient with time and mileage (now 38,000)

Wow guys! I have only just seen this but it reminded me of a dinner party here which seemed to me to get really out of hand and only just this side of physical but after a smoke break the participants were heard to exclaim that it was the best argument in years and they all looked forward to meeting up again. There's the french for you.

What a night! It was like mixing Ronnie Corbett in the Chair with Tyson Fury! The more Ken wanted an answer the further we drifted! There's not many places that can link milk, fish and waterless coolant together... grin2

You forgot the big one. Silicon brake fluid.

For afters we can cover black & white number plates and head restraints.

Not to mention PVC vs Mohair.
Wires vs Alloys.
Sealed for life transmission.
