Now my 2014 4/4 has loosened up with some mileage under its belt 10000 + can any TMers give any thoughts/experiences on remapping the Sigma engine?

Advice on trusted Remappers (Williams is on the list) and actual difference in driving experience welcome.

Thanks

KEV

I had my Sigma remapped via Cain Wolf.

The best thing I did!

You can accurately measure the increases in performance - but you can also "feel" them!

Frees the engine - lets it breath - much sharper acceleration and revs much easier right through the rev band.

I did have a Sports Exhaust and a KnN filter too ( before the remap).

Not expensive and I would say worth every penny!!

Talk to Cain or Williams.

Thanks Neil,

I have a sports exhaust and using Cains front spoiler brake duct inlets I have rigged cool air induction up to a K+N filter in the standard air box.

I will be interested in Williams cool air induction system for the 4/4 if it is ever released.

Any other experiences?

Ok people...made the journey today from York to Cambridgeshire for the remap on my 2014 4/4.

Remap took 2 1/2 hours..most of the time waiting for the remaps to be written from Quantum head office and then sent to the local agent.
I had had a rolling road session in York to check standard figures and will have a new session hopefully next week to compare.
Drove home 3 hours and the car felt "alive"..I like to use my range of gears but after the remap a different car!!!

The remap is limited to 7250 rpm but the car pulls like a train through the whole rev band and on my favourite hill on the way home it flew up in a higher gear as I hoped.

You are right you can feel the difference..the torque pull is evident

Such a difference for 250 quid!!!

Will put up figures after rolling road session

Very pleased !!!!

Best way to spend £250 from the sounds of it.

Will be interested in the rolling test comparison figures!

Had Williams do my remap and it's done everything that you say. Not ever taken it anywhere close to 7.5k revs (5.5 k in 3rd at Combe and Shelsey, max) but feels a different car under acceleration. Suplex front suspension also helps greatly.

As do Vredstein tyres, which are heaps better than Conti's (not as good as Avons but wayyy cheaper!)

Cheers
