Yes good point something I hadn't really noticed before the remap that the standard Contis really do hold the car back..I'm sure they are good base tyres and will never wear out but I need to look at other options.

I have Vredestein TTrac2 since two weeks on my 4/4 and I'm amazed. in the wet and the dry.

The only problem for me is that the Plus 4 must be fitted with H rated tyres. I would have to consider the Sportrac 5.

Nick, the Vredestein T Trac 2, as I stated in another threat, the name was "Winter Tyres" or so, is a very reasonable priced tyre. It is the only tyre in the size we need (165/80/15) with a "B" EU sticker for a good wet performance. For a compare, the Conti ct22 has a E or F sticker...and has a terrible wet performance...as you now. I have learned, that every letter means three meters longer braking distances.

T Trac 2 is about half the costs in comparison with a Vredestein Classic of the same dimension. We had the discussion here, that in the dry the T Trac 2 could be too sticky, which means that a gentle slide in the dry out of corners is not so good possible. On the other hand I had a very good! wet behave of this tyre over the last weeks ( now streets are salty and I don't drive her). The tyre sticks at temperatures (8 grad celsius) where the Conti is completely unusable.

We will see how the tyre behaves in the dry. TBH I think I can slide her. This tyres are narrow, so I see no problem.

In addition I have noticed a very nice positive side effect: The Conti were too less controlled (in my view) at 1.6 bars...and way too hard at 1.8 bar for the suspension. So I drove with 1.7 bars. The new T Track seems to be made of softer material, so I drive her at 1.8 bar which means I have much better controlled curve behave and a very subtle and gentle suspension at the same time.

Regarding the look, the wall is nice because it looks simple and clear without too much text and numbers which is common on todays tyres. The tread is somewhat modern looking but really ok for me. The wall is a bit less rounded than the Conti but it looks cool.
I think Giles (Pandy) drives the same tyre and also stated to be very happy with them.

Peter, have also a look at Dunlop bluresponse at 195/65/15 V. I have this tyre on my old 911 and it is really good. You can get H as well, but usually the V has more controlled walls which is good for such a higher profile tyre, and the price is about the same.

I note that the Vredestein Sportrac also has a "B" EU sticker for a good wet performance. But the Dunlop Blueresponce that you suggest is even better with an "A" rating. What is the ride and steering like with those?
