I think you hit the nail on the head.
Base ball caps are only for the young looking and just don't work with white hair....
That's why I can wear them. somestick

Baseball cap (NOT the Lewis Hamilton style!), linen and also a leather duckbill flat cap, leather Stetson Baker Boy cap, or flying helmet.....I like to ring the changes!

Wear what the heck you like, life is to short to be concerned what others think of your headgear.

Off to find my baseball cap and wear it in the house on my balding grey head in defiance......

I think it is sartorially perfectly acceptable for a gentleman to wear a baseball cap in a Morgan but only when one is travelling in one of the former colonies

It's funny but I do wear baseball caps (I'll be 60 this year), mostly to stop my solar panel (sounds so much better than bald head) from getting sunburnt and keeping the sun out of my eyes, but I'd never wear one backwards. redcard
I have, on the other hand, worn my Baker Boys cap backwards, suppose it's because gentleman racers used too. drive

Somebody said:

When you're 20 you worry what people think
When you're 40 you don't care what people think
When you're 60 you realise that people are not thinking.

Headgear should be:
a) Practical
b) Expendable

A baseball cap is practical because it has a peak and is cheap. So if it blows off in lane 3 on the M25 - so what.

But - it must be coordinated with your car.

Flat caps are OK but are old fart wear.

Other headgear tends to be too expensive to lose.

I have a couple of Tilleys and a straw hat but I wouldn't want to lose my Tilleys, and a straw hat looks too hillbilly.

Have to agree.. More important things to worry about.. When did I last grease my kingpins? Is my radiator connector about to snap off?, is that my wheel cylinders I can hear seizing. Etc etc..
