Has a lot to Say!
Picture example of MHD special edition Watch.

A couple of pictures of a Ltd edition that Matt Humphries has done.
I bought a vintage style one last year and have been very happy with it,so I would like to have a Morgan one of some kind but we need a minimum of 10 to make it worth while.
...........Any interest? grouphug

Nice looking watch.

Food for thought:

Lose the date.....can anyone on this site actually see the date when they're wearing a watch these days?

Highlight the figures 4, 6, and 8 (instead of 3,6,9 and 12) to represent the number of cylinders that Morgan's use (to date).

Move the makers identity mark to the lower position. That frees up the upper half of the face for a set of Morgan Wings.

12 O'clock position? Either blank but with a double II to mark it or a 12 (anyone for a V12 in the future!!) or maybe a double 00 (just to be different) or open to other ideas.

It would need to be an automatic movement and waterproof to at least 0.5m above the ground so it can be worn driving......

Of course it would be much cheaper to just get a Morgan Wings tattoo.......no batteries, lasts pretty much for ever and might just prevent people jumping ship......

Would be good to see what the designer/maker can come up with and at what price though....so please keep me in the loop.

Just had an afterthought.....the M3W folk won't be happy.....I didn't suggest marking out the '2'......and it would unbalance the idea completely.....back to the drawing board.....

OK, checked MHD´s website - let´s get concrete, chaps:

I propose this model (it has quite a classic and pure look, 43mm case which is MHD´s largest one and fits a 22mm wristband - and comes of course with an automatic movement):

http://www.matthewhumphriesdesignwatches.com/product/mhd-09-customised-seiko-automatic-divers-watch

Let´s keep it simple:

- instead of the MHD-Logo: the MORGAN wing
- in the space below the center of the hands: the writing "handmade since 1909" (in classic looking letters, e.g. like this one: http://www.leacyclassics.com/media/catal...B/MBC2300_1.JPG
I´m sure Matthew would make a good proposal)
- below the writing: the Union Jack
- one black and one brown rally wristband with holes (the second one in a box together with the watch)
- limited edition engraving on the back cover (e.g.: No. X of XX)

Shouldn´t be to complicate to get a limited run of this?! I hope that MMC would allow the use of the MORGAN wing...

=> Budget: 350.- GBP each ???

Anybody on the list for that design suggestion? shades

Perhaps one more detail as a special for this limited edition:

The sweeping second hand in red (as shown on the pics of this thread) or blue as these colours do match better with the colours of the wing and the Union Jack (instead of the yellow standard one).

I'm not sure I like that one as much as the one shown in the pics on this thread. The bezel is a bit too thick for my liking.

I tend to agree. It reminds me of my old Russian watch!

The one in the picture is 41 mm if I remember so should suit every one ,the case can be black or steel ,strap black or brown .
I have spoken to Morgan re permission and subject to approval of the final design it is something that can be done .
The face style would be one of the ones on the MHD site with our chosen additions ,MHD would of cause be included.
Keep it simple as the one in the photo or we would never please every one .
Matt sent me some examples of various ones for the ARP4 which I liked but need 10 buyers to make it available so I can't have that hence the none specific Morgan watch .
I will speak to Matt next week and let him put some ideas together .
Do we have 10 willing victims ?
A proportion of the cost will go to Morgan for using the brand so it will be slightly more expensive than the standard watches.
So £370 to £400.

Peter, put my name on one,
My choice would be black case, tan deployment strap, black face, would like to see Morgan wings on dial , not bothered about date.

Of course Peter, there might be enough orders to have a Morgan one and an ARP4 specific one. I know if I was buying an ARP4 I'd want such a watch!
