Hi all, I'm Robert and excited to join this forum. I have wanted a Morgan since I was about 18 when a friend's elder brother had one. Needless to say, a few decades have gone by since then although my brother maintains that my midlife crisis started when I was 18!

Anyway, a poorly performing endowment matured last year and instead of using it to pay-off a bit of the Mortgage we are using it to part fund a new 4 seat Plus 4. My wife is as excited as I am. I am buying through Williams Morgan and Paul there has been excellent. Just to be sure this is what we wanted we hired a 2 seater for the weekend in early December. Went to Dorset coast and we had a ball. Smiling all the way there and back. I was amazed at the different and many conversations the car seems to get you into with strangers.

Got to wait until mid April now but looking forward to a factory visit.

Hope to learn a lot from you all but mechanical skills not a strong suit for me.

welcome Robert to TM and impending Morgan ownership.

Glad also to see that you've graduated in Man Maths and worked out what a sensible pleace to park your money. As someobdy once said to me it's a bit like a mobile ISA. Have fun and post some pictures whe you can.

Hi Robert, welcome from South Wilts!

A great choice...but beware, Morgan ownership can be addictive and take you to places you never dreamed of.

Morgan owners are generally slightly odd, in a really rather nice way. So you should fit in well, form your description of your "purchasing logic"!

Williams: one of the nicest ways to be parted from a lot of money that I know.

Mechanical knowledge doesn't need to be high: a modern Morgan needs a bit more mechanical care than a new Ford, but it isn't a vintage car, just looks the part!

Not long until Mid April!!

This is exactly what you should be doing! smile

As Peter has said, modern Morgan's don't really require any mechanical/engineering knowledge, but there definitely tips and tricks about other things that you'll find on here.

Keep us posted on your new motor - you'll have a lot of fun.
