Its been said on here many times - the right car will find you!

That could be a new one!

I would love to experience the New Car Buying route.

That way you can spec exactly what you want - and have the added enjoyment of seeing your car being built.

One new car buyer actually signed his wooden frame at the factory on Sat...I think thats just a fantastic thing to be able to do!

My final advice would be to take your time - particularly with your spec.

A visit to the factory is a very good thing to do as you will see many options of colours etc for real.

Is that price tax included? A 4/4 with a few extras is now about €60K "keys in the hand" here in Italy. If you can get a new one for under €50K on the road that would seem to be a very good price.

I may mix up things...
I like the dash with the revmeter in front of the wheel and that is the one I have on my 4/4. I have seen versions with two small gauges at wheel sight and the tachometer moved to the side - maybe not in a 4/4.

Or you could buy an older Roadster

That means your Mog would cost about 55K to 58K € when you may order some of the "regular" specs. Of course a very basic model can deliver the same amount of big fun.

Hi Kay, and welcome to TM! There's not much I can add to what the guys have posted so far. The book that DaveW recommended is well worth buying....a wealth of information in there although it does not include the Mazda gearbox cars.
Those gearboxes were introduced around mid to late summer of 2011 and as has been said, make a big difference to the enjoyment of gear changes. I would certainly be looking at a car from that period. Apart from the latest autophoretic chassis there really isn't much else changed....the dashboard remains the same, its the Plus4 one that changed with the introduction of the GDI engine. There are things like improved weather seals to the screen pillars but those are easily retro fitted.
For a spell from 2008, the factory produced just the "Sport" model without a spare wheel and a flat panel rear. Many prefer a spare but the storage slot for the side screens on the Sport model is very useful!

In order to compare the price of a brand one and a second hand, take into account all the options and extra of the used one, and do a cost estimate of the new one in the same configuration.

2010 and 6000 km is quite a new one. How many price difference with the new one in the same configuration? Warranty?

Have a search in UK if you are not RHD reluctant.

Personally i have not driven the 4/4 with the earlier ford gearbox but i bought a new one late last year and the mazda gearbox is superb. So is the 1600 ford sigma engine - a real gem that has more low end pull than i was expecting - plus a real zest to rev. A 4/4 is very light weight which really helps its agility and performance. A real shock has been its economy - even driven with spirit it returns over 40mpg.

Its great to spec the car to your own taste ( take your time on choices) and if you buy new you will know how its been cared for from day one and get a long warranty.

If you can afford it you'll not regret buying new in my opinion

Just a thought - its the 80th anniversary of the 4/4 this year and Morgan have a special edition coming i'm sure........
