I recall talking to Techniques about tightening down my front end a few tears back and they recommended the shortened springs Mulfab bearings, brake reaction bars AND a steering damper. I have had the car so long that I can't remember whether there was an issue with shimmy but there certainly has never been since. Worth a try.
