Too much Thunderbird influence. I did consider painting them.....
John - empty bottles vertical, full bottles sideways.
The balance weights are adhesive on the inside but the 4/4 rim shape doesn't provide a very wide flat area, so they are slightly wider than optimum. Three of the four needed weights on the outside and on a 4/4 rim the only option is a knock on weight. There's no flat rim area.

Colin - The reusable weights look interesting. Not sure I could tolerate the look though, but I'll save the link. This was the factory fix - when I first got Bumble and cleaned the wheels up. It's hard to see here but the inner rim is contoured, the flat area is quite narrow.  This shows the outer rim at the same time, different wheel. You can see there's no flat rim area, and the two weights at 9 o'clock when painted black, don't look too bad.

The ones at 9 O'clock are well disguised, not like the ones at 3 O'clock ;-)
Maybe those reusable weights painted black on the inside spoke fitted from the inside of the wheel would be almost impossible to spot?

This talk of balancing weights had me looking at my wheels . I have factory fitted weights on the 4 road wheels , the spare has none . Does this mean that on a new car the factory doesn't balance the spare ?

My '05 has a balanced spare. I think that the '12 does but not absolutely sure. Sometimes you don't need a weight on the outside.
Now that weights are not lead you need more steel or zinc so bigger weights, which may rust if not protected.

Today I asked for the Vred tyre price and the dealer thinks we need inner tubes too? Sorry for my ignorance but I am not sure if Morgan fitted tubed or tubeless tires. What is right? (2011 production)

All mine are tubeless. There's a black band to seal the spokes so you need to remind the tyre fitter to be careful as it can suffer damage. I also sourced some new screw in valves from MWS.
