Good job.

Only concern, adjusting the parallelism rear/front with the adjustable rods.

I made a CAE model of the chassis for bending and torsional rigidity estimates and stress analysis.

The deletion of the rear crossbar has a marginal effect. Don't worry.

Jochen

Thank you very much for posting these and giving us your comments about the components and the fitting.

Your comments that this is a job better done by those with all the facilities and tools are most useful.

I understtand that it is the positioning of the axle within the chassis that it especially critical.

We are looking forward to your impressions of the car on the road with the new rear suspension.

Hello Jochen,

thanks for posting, but a short question from my side: have you driven a Roadster with the Kit before you ordered and think the improved suspension is worth it or is this more about playing around with alternatives of the leaf suspension and hoping for improvements?

Regards,

Beltempo

Dear Beltempo,

no i didn´t test-drive it in advance, but have been in close touch with "the-ones-in-the-knowing" wink

Besides that the asymetric leaf springs (also from Suplex) that i had fitted previously haven´t just risen to what they were promised to (not the fault of the idea itself, but my very set - which wasn´t ok) - so either replacing the leaf springs or just switch to the solution my car was intended to have from the start (but not available then yet) wasn´t a long guess for me.

After having played around with several set-ups in different cars by now i´m pretty sure that this will be "it" - for me at least. hide

Dear Andy,

my pleasure! cheers

And, yes, you should at least be "well equipped" workshopwise plus it DOES help if you have an engineering background going with that too. hide oldgit

But then again it isn´t much of a guess how to assemble the puzzle - critical shoul be, as you mentioned, the proper set-up (axle alignement both ways/sides etc ..)

My installation has been put back a week frown but that gives me time to complete the translation of the instructions into Italian.

Now all I have to do is organise the instruments for my new dash.
