Hello all Im new to this. My name is Cyd and just got a secondhand M3W 2012 weeks ago .Today being a nice day (well not raining) took it out for a spin a few miles of smiles and then it stopped , not so much fun.Fuel pump appeared to pack up coming from years of British bikeing and carrying the normal things you do (wire, spanners etc) proceeded to do roadside repairs to get home. Hot wireing the pump to the battery worked and am now home and warm.Is this sort of thing normal? Oh well phone call to the dealer tomorrow I've got three month warrenty. Thanks for listening I feel better now.Cyd

Welcome to TM, Cyd! Well done for getting the 3W running again, I hope your dealer sorts it out permanently so you can continue to enjoy the fun.

Hello Cyd and welcome to TM and Morgan ownership.
Hope you get it checked but sounds like you've been on a good training course!

Welcome Cyd, I hope that is a rare occurrence and that the dealer sorts things for you quickly.

Welcome to threewheeler ownership ! Fuel pump problems are quite common with early cars , sometimes it's just a poor earth connection .

Welcome! Fuel pump issues not particularly uncommon - getting it going again at road side definitely a bit uncommon - well done! As Hugh says probably just a dodgy earth.

Thanks for the welcome, I'm sure it will turn out right in the end. Thanks for the tip HJP I'll run a new earth to the plug, can't do any harm. Cyd

Welcome from down-under.
A common Morgan phrase (that may or may not be applicable here) - "They all do that sir"....

Welcome Cyd and sorry to hear your first trip was cut short.
There is a wealth of info on here about "fixing" the 2012 models and once sorted there is simply nothing else like the M3W.
I take it your dealer will have done the key mods - rectifier wiring, chassis brace and maybe some of the "discretionary" ones - comfort steering, Centra and possibbly urban cooling.
Enjoy and I hope to meet up with you sometime soon.
