Barmah hats make a very nice range of hats including a range of canvas hats that have chinstraps. The ladies have a range with various scarves instead of hatbands too.  http://www.barmahhats.com.au/I once tried importing Barmah hats to Italy but gave up because of high taxes. Consequently I have a lifetime supply of hats; full leather, panama, and canvas

A drive on a sunny but cool Saturday, and some time to spare, prompted a bit of hat shopping in Ely. After some dodgy moments with skiing hats in Mountain Warehouse I picked up one of these fleece trapper hats at EMW. It worked very well on the return home.

I thought this would look rather dashing and it matched my black 4/4 Sport nicely. Unfortunately it rained on the return leg of my last run. Does anyone know how best to patch a vinyl roof? Dashing black hat!

That reminds me of the scene in Those magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, where the observation balloon is punctured by the spike, leading to a decent into the sewage.

A few days back I was sorely tempted to buy a possum fur lined WWI flying hat at the Omaka aviation museum but  said I looked a bit of a prat! more than normal!
