Has anyone taken their Aero S1 on a car ferry (St Malo/Caen) a bit worried about the clearance? Getting ready for Le Mans Classic and the subsequent roadtrip afterwards.

No problem, crossed many times, although drive diagonally if you can when you first get on the ramp.

Hi Gin
Do they leave you on the bottom level or do you go up to the top levels

Angled approach and slowly over the ramp at the bottom is the best advices even then you may catch the underside, but I've done LM and other ferry trips to France in over twenty years of mog ownership and never sustained any damage. Sometimes the noise has been horrendous but shut your eyes and you get used to it.

When I've been on ferries with the roadster they have always put me on the bottom deck. They must know which sorts of cars are vulnerable. You can ask at check-in I expect.

Though my experience is with a 4/4; I would agree with all said, and would add that Brittany Ferries are usually really helpful. Also, you will find the ferries just prior to the Classic are a great experience, with some fantastic cars being loaded.

The Dartmouth ferry is a bit interesting in a series 1... scratchy scratchy Trads are ok though.

They usually put you on the bottom level with the lorries, good for getting away.

Took my S1 Portsmouth St Marlo Brittany Ferries last summer, not a problem, we were parked on the lower deck.
