Retrospect, I think we all genuinely wish you well with your rebuild and would welcome some more pics as things progress. I regret not being able to offer you more direct help but my M3W knowledge is even more limited than my 4 wheel!
On forums it is easy to jump to conclusions when there is little to go on. This is a good example and proves a point I was trying to make that some basic introduction and info up front is not only a friendly way of saying hi, but also goes a long way to avoid assumptive errors that are so easy to make.
Wouldn't mind seeing a photo of your replica healey too!

Seriously though - this is a hell of a re-build and given the force the chassis must have experienced. A brave undertaking indeed.

Ouch!
THat must be close to being a write off.
The chassis looks very badly bent out of line - and may need a jig to fix/realign?
Once the chassis can be straightened then its factory components and maybe a specialist aluminium re- clad?
I wish you the very best of luck!

There is no such thing as write off, only an uneconomical repair. if somebody is willing to put the time and money in to it any machine can be rebuilt. Some time it can be done for the satisfaction of being able to do it.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

Retro,
No apology needed.
Good luck with your project and as others have said, pictures...
As you said, maybe once you get a line on parts and start turning nuts and bolts, start a new thread to record your rebuild. This may also be a way to document your repairs for someone else if you ever decide to sell it.

Cowboys and ignorance have got the repair business a really bad name in the publics eye.

Retro you will have to excuse my scepticism.
There is no way your swing arm and mounting points can be structurally sound, looking at the damage to the wheel.
My gut feeling is that a good local engineering company should make up the components you need and they would probably be better than the originals.
My 3w had a 10 to 15 mph shunt up the back end and it rippled the whole body back to front. New bodies are around 6k believe it or not.

Retro, there is (depending on the year of the car and upgrades on your car) a front frame brace that the factory has designed to replace the cross link in between the engine rear and the front of the bod.) It is no in the parts book but a dealer will know about it . After the shunt you had it might be a good idea to replace the old cross brace with the new triangulated front brace.
