Fairly new to Morgan life but loving my 1995 4/4 and enjoying the forum. Can anyone recommend the best leather driving gloves to use on a Moto Lita steering wheel? I am not after very thick gloves but more to keep the wind chill factor off on cold days. Obviously the key thing is grip on the wooden steering wheel. Sorry if this is on the wrong forum but a bit hard to "place" it. If you see a red 4/4 in and around Inkberrow Worcestershire give me a wave!

Gent string backs for me in summer and full leather in winter.
Wooden wheel feels much better with gloves.

Never really needed them with the 4/4, but I often wear a pair of motorcycle gloves in the trike. That however has an unpadded steering wheel and since it is only 270 degrees lock to lock, is very reactive to potholes etc.

The motorcycle gloves are quite thin palmed, the thicker/tough bits are on the outside, so not as mad as it sounds to drive a car wearing them.

Horse riding gloes. Available as driving gloves from M&S particularly around Christmas and Fathers Day.

Alternatively, try a riding or equine tack shop where there's a wide array of leather and other 'bits' and before anyone's imagination starts running riot, I'm referring to the possibilities of dual purposing hide belts, etc for bonnet and door straps!

I've got two pairs of driving gloves
One pair is thinsulate lined in brown leather which I use for colder drives - I got mine from the Morgan stand at MOG14 as I could try a few sizes on
These are the ones that Morgan sell in their factory shop
If you are close by why not pop in to the factory shop and see what fits ?

The other pair I got from Dents on-line they are unlined with an open back to use in the Summer

It was a bit of a struggle to decide which size to go for buying on line and I ordered a pair too big at first and had to send them back and order the size down which all worked out fine in the end but it's a bit of a hassle

I would certainly recommend going to a shop and trying them on for size first

For winter I use my ski gloves which are supposedly proof against -30 and I can tell you that this week it felt like it yet today I have my shorts on! Oh, maybe that's too much information.

As long as their ON its OK.

In our Sydney summer I use cycle gloves which work well with wooden steering wheels providing a little padding and some sunprotection.

But a two hour drive up on on to the tablelands in our winter, say to Orange, winter temps are like the UK, so I note the above with interest. But the big problem is experimenting with size. And it's not only gloves but head gear that is a real issue.

I have said before , in our climate, Morgans are a winter car in SE Australia
