How do you switch it on/off as the switch is on the top of it?

I switch it on, then just put the speaker in. It BT connects automatically. It fits snug and once in I control via iPhone volume /mute. I see this a good option for odd times when driving longer distance etc (like for me driving on autobahn to Zurich, Amsterdam, Calais etc. I remove it from the radio aperture when not in the car and hide it as best I can. I suppose ideally having the switch at the front would help but then that would spoil the clean look. But for shorter and open-top driving (yes, my Speedster has a trad hood), I only listen to the engine (and my wife - obviously)..

Looks a good idea - you can also get a walnut case - not sure you would want to leave it on display though.

Warning to those of you who use an iPhone or other mobile device to search / control music while driving, you may not realise you could be committing an offence as "using a mobile phone OR OTHER mobile device" is an offence.

What's the difference between this and using a GPS navigation app on a mobile phone (in a cradle) - or is that technically an offence also?

Surely you should set your destination whilst stationary. Any subsequent action that distracts you from driving is an offence - like swigging from a can of coke.

Put it into flight mode then it's nothing more than a mp3 player.

Phone legislation here in the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) as amended

Interestingly (maybe..) the part that reads: a mobile telephone or other device is to be treated as hand-held if it is, or must be, held at some point during the course of making or receiving a call or performing any other interactive communication function; is the crux..

Short answer "yes" there are other offences that can be reported, "failing to maintain proper control" "careless driving"

Sensible course of action is to set up GPS and or music while stationary ( not in a traffic queue ) much safer. It really doesn't hit home properly until you attend a fatal accident where somebody was on the phone or otherwise distracted by using an iPod or similar.

I really like the neat installation on the transmission tunnel.

I bought SWMBO one for Christmas & am very impressed by the sound
