When I was about 16 and used to race slot cars (remember slot cars) the Corvette Stingray was my favourite. Never had the real thing but I still think they are a fantastic looking car.

It originated from New York...Much more than that I don't know

It arrived here in Oct last year and I bought it off the importer.

It is an original big block with matching engine at least

I made the decision to go for a user and have to admit to steering well clear of bobble hats and their score sheets (no offence if any of you guys are into that) I know this is the only way to go State side and seems to be more important here of late

Obviously the money I paid reflects this by being a fair bit cheaper. I have a 68 440 Charger which is correct in all these ways but I find I cannot use it

This car has been restored at some point as underneath is beautiful.

Paint isn't great and some panels mis-aligned. My plan was to paint it a more desirable colour but I realise this is taboo, so still thinking what to do as colour change will affect it's value for sure but then a more desirable colour might help it

Meanwhile I shall drive it carefully, enjoy it and visit many Fuel Stations......I have some seriously juicy cars but I've never come across anything this thirsty

Yes very nice. Never owned one but drove one around in the mid 70's for a bit. Seem to recall it was a handful in the wet and needed a small mortgage to fuel it. It was metallic blue, not sure if that was an original colour. My pal had a Dodge Charger , equally lethal in the wrong hands.

I also remember driving a pink Cadillac that was owned by Diana Dors, seemed a nice lady but rather scary to a 17 year old!

Muscle cars were never my thing, had more fun in lightweight sports cars, TR's, MG 's etc.. But can see the appeal. Enjoy!

Sounds like a good quality wrap could be the colour answer. I was looking at a 1961 Corvette but a bit too big for my garage with the other vehicles.

I thought you said you were going to reduce numbers due to shortage of garage space ? Had a ride in a black early Stingray years ago , may need the suspension tightening up as they can be a bit floaty ?
