Hi Malcolm, the receiver/sender unit for the tyre sensor is behind the dashboard on the N/S (on my car at any rate!) and the power cable can be easily unplugged - once you get to it! It may be easier to go straight to the sensor readout panel. This is accessed by carefully levering out the leather armrest pad from the rear which should then reveal a couple of cross head screws securing the plastic/turned metal armrest to the tunnel.Once these are released you can lift up the complete armrest unit.A couple of tiny screws in the black plastic cover gives access to the rear of the sensor display. I have often thought the cut out could house some other display;not sure what ! Hope that helps, James

Are these a common failure?

- the (sensor) batteries eventually give up the ghost and are (apparantly) non-replaceable. The American firm who provided the units no longer supply for the car market (only trucks and campers) One of my sensors 'let go' of its mounting and was rattling around in the tyre with consequently bizarre readings.... If any one has a spare 'dead' unit they would like to donate,I would like to experiment with fitting a replacement battery. Please PM me if you are able to help.... James

Hi Nick
I think many others on here have disconnected them, I believe Morgan no longer supply the sensors for them now if they become faulty.

Thanks James I'll have a go at that tomorrow, then start looking for a new (Aero) filler cap.

A few years ago Bill and myself were on a run we stopped in a little pub for a meal ,as he pulled up and got out he said the air sensor was tweeting.Picture the scene both doors open two men on their knees either side of the car with their heads near the tunnel. After a short while my wife came over to see what we were doing and we dismissingly told here, she looked up pointed and said is it something to do with that. The pub sign was swaying nicely in the wind giveing a short shrill tweet.
