Charlie that is a neat job but it looks too short to me to be fully effective. On another thread others have extended their guard to below the bodywork.

A neat job - but why not a tad longer at the rear?
Well done!

I was lucky enough to have forum member Wirewheel pick up and ship me the mudguard from England back in January of 2013. The shipping was far more than the cost of the plastic mudguard. It was originally longer and went all the way to the back, but because of its length it had to be supported by a bracket at a second location. Some people made a bracket off of the rear hub, others affixed it to the wooden frame at the back, which is what I did. I ended up deciding against using this setup and removed it for a redesign. I wanted to support the mudguard with a metal rod underneath, which took a couple tries before I came to my current design. Since I had the dealership install the cover for the seat belt sender unit in the boot I am mostly trying to keep mud and road tar off the area behind the seats. Which, when the plastic boot tray is installed, the forward area is rather protected with this setup. Shortening it also lessened the weight on the back end making it so a single thinner piece of metal could support its weight when only mounted at one location. This setup is much lighter and less bulky than the leaf-spring like setup it took to support the entire longer mudguard when mounted to a single point.

The mudguard comes from a trailer manufacturer called Peak Trailers. Outer Dimensions are approximately L 85cm H 45cm W 25cm.
As you are in Switzerland it would be worth trying to source locally as Charlie has said, postage charges were horrendously expensive.

The nearest version I can find listed has dimensions L77cm x H34cm x W22cm and is for tyres 145-175 x 13". Is this the one you used?

Richard, if I remember correctly, they knew it as the 8inch.
The measurements I provided where maximum dimensions. Mention what it is for them may remember as at one time There was potential for them to supply to the factory.

The new Heritage Edition M3W should have a works fit rear mudguard, with some cut to shape bracketry attached to the swinging arm, meaning it keeps a constant distance from the rear tyre.
It's this item that is on the new accessory price list on here.
They haven't shown any detail photo's yet, but I've seen it at the factory & it makes so much sense.
