Yes, it does. Mine's doing more like 3500 at 80.

If yo have a MT75 ford box with the same ratios as my 4/4 sport, then yes?

I tend not to use the speedometer as it is not in my line of sight, I use the rev counter which is more accurate. There's a rev's speed table pinned to the dash!

The real answer for the road use is torque and BHP.

I kind of agree, Cain, after 3 hours on a motorway at 80mph+ mine can be a bit wearing (although it's the wind blast that's more tiring that the revs) - but it's more than compensated for when you get off, and after all, who buys a Morgan to drive on motorways? They are just a necessary evil to be endured whilst getting to the fun bits...

I would have the 4:10 gear change in a hart beat, if I could fit an overdrive unit drive best of both worlds then and 10 gears crazy3

What am I talking about I can't cope with a six speed box swear

Cain,
It's a LT77 box on a M16 engine. 2000 rpm =60mph, 3000 =80mph, fifth gear can be used for 30 mph.

2005 PLUS 4 with 3.73:1, Ford gearbox,
130 km/h (80 mph) at 3200 rpm, 74 BHP at 49% of the rpm maximun.
25.10 mph at 1000 rpm. You can find it in the handbook.

For the same speed 80 mph, with 4.33:1 rear axle, you get 89 BHP at 3700 rpm,
plus 15 BHP available with the same motor and at 57% of the rpm maximun.

Pretty much the same gearing as the R380 on a T16 +4 smile
